The MTT-1 (Upper Body) course features an introduction to the history of trigger points and myofascial pain. Theory components (primarily through home-study video modules) feature the clinical aspects of myofascial pain, peripheral and central sensitization, the etiology and scientific basis of myofascial pain, and manual trigger point therapy.
During the in-person weekend, many upper body muscles commonly associated with myofascial symptoms in clinical practice will be addressed. Students will review the anatomy, function, precise palpation, and manual therapy techniques for each muscle.
NOTE: The MTT course program consists of three courses with the certification exams on the last day of MTT-3.
Instructors: Lisa Gorman and Sarah Ernst-Edwards
